Iron Lynx brought both Mercedes-AMG LMGT3s home in the points at the 6 Hours of Barcelona, sixth and eighth in class, and neither result came easily.

#61: penalty, spin, sixth

Martin Berry started the #61 fifth in class but made contact with a rival at turn one and was penalised. Rui Andrade was later spun by another car and dropped outside the top ten. In the final two hours the team split the running into three stints instead of two, with less fuel and fresher tyres each time. Maxime Martin used that to rejoin ninth and recover to sixth, the class position confirmed in the official classification.

#79: from the back to eighth

The #79 of Johannes Zelger, Matteo Cressoni and Lin Hodenius started from the back of the grid, the team says. Zelger moved into the points on a wet but drying track, Cressoni carried on the recovery on slicks, and Hodenius managed tyres and strategy to the flag. The team says the car crossed the line ninth and was promoted to eighth by a rival's penalty; the official classification lists it eighth in class. It is the crew's second consecutive top-ten finish.

"We know we were capable of much more, as demonstrated by the impressive comebacks of both cars," said team principal Andrea Piccini. The final round is Iron Lynx's home race at Monza on 8 November.
