Human editorial responsibility
AI tools support our work: research, translation between English and Dutch, structure and consistency checks. They do not carry editorial responsibility. That stays with pit.report and its editor-in-chief, for every piece we publish.
Human approval before publication
Work drafted with AI support is not published automatically. A named editor reviews and approves it first.
There is one narrow, rule-bound exception: short factual items built solely from official FIA WEC classifications and official FIA WEC press releases, such as a qualifying result. These only go live when every automated check passes, including a rights-cleared editorial image, and they are logged so we can show why they were allowed. Social posts are never published automatically.
Official sources first
When sources disagree, we rank them in this order:
- FIA, ACO and FIA WEC, including official timing and classifications
- Manufacturers and teams, attributed as their own statements
- pit.report's own reporting and archive
- Verified, reputable secondary sources, always attributed
No invented quotes
AI may not create, merge or materially alter a quotation. Quotes appear as the person said or wrote them, in the original language, with a source. We never publish AI-generated interviews or fictional statements by real people.

Every piece tells you what it is:

Rumours and uncorroborated claims
If we report something that is not confirmed, we say so plainly and name who is making the claim. A rumour is never presented as fact.
Corrections
When we get a material fact wrong, we correct it and say what changed. Minor fixes such as typos may be made without a note.
Images and attribution
We only use images we have the right to use, and every image carries a credit. Manufacturer and agency photography is used for editorial purposes only, never on partner or commercial pages. When we have no suitable image, we show a designed placeholder rather than borrowing one.
Data and timing
Race data on pit.report comes from official or clearly attributed sources. Where timing or results are not available, we show that honestly. We never fill a gap with estimated or invented numbers.
