The #7 Toyota looked set for victory at Lone Star Le Mans before a hydraulic pressure issue forced it to retire with barely ten minutes remaining, according to FIA WEC (https://mail.google.com/mail/u/0/#all/1a0856777f50acf3).
That failure handed the win to the #50 Ferrari, which claimed its first victory of the season, ending its longest-ever winless streak, per FIA WEC. The result reopens the Manufacturers' title fight, the series noted.
The race had been set up by an intense Hyperpole session between the #12 Cadillac and the #51 Ferrari, FIA WEC reported, on a track described as tricky under the Texan sun and sporadic showers.
The #38 Cadillac finished second and the #35 Alpine completed the Hypercar podium in third, securing Alpine's first podium of the season, according to FIA WEC.
In LMGT3, Heart of Racing's #27 Aston Martin won on home soil, ahead of the #91 Porsche in second, with the #23 Aston Martin completing the podium in third, FIA WEC stated.
