Eduardo Barrichello claimed LMGT3 pole for Lone Star Le Mans with a 2:05.160 in the #23 Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage AMR.
Zacharie Robichon was 0.124 seconds slower in the sister #27 Aston Martin, giving Heart of Racing an all-Aston Martin front row at Circuit of the Americas.
Aston Martin extends its run
The result gives Aston Martin a third consecutive LMGT3 pole in FIA WEC. For Barrichello, it is a third pole from four Hyperpole appearances, a record FIA WEC described as unrivalled in the category.
Corvette misses Hyperpole
The championship-leading TF Sport Corvettes were the major casualties of the first part of qualifying. Neither reached Hyperpole. The #34 Corvette starts 12th and the #33 starts 17th on the 18-car LMGT3 grid.
That leaves Aston Martin with the cleanest possible starting position in class and Corvette facing a recovery race from deep in the field.
